Tehran’s IAF to review ‘Valderama’

Tehran’s Iranian Artists Forum (IAF) is to review ‘Valderama’ by Iranian director Abbas Amini.

Tehran’s Iranian Artists Forum (IAF) has been scheduled to review ‘Valderama’ by Iranian director Abbas Amini.

The screening, set to be held on Sunday, will be followed by a review session with Amini, the film producer Majid Barzegar, and the film critic Keivan Kasirian in attendance.

‘Valderrama’ is about an Iranian boy in the southwestern city of Abadan whose conspicuous curly blond hair resembles the famous Colombian former football player Carlos Valderrama, so he is called by the same name. He is trying to obtain the ID card he has never been able to have

Amini’s title has so far participated in a number of international film festivals, including the Exground Filmfest in Wiesbaden, Germany, and Rome's Asian Film Festival, Italy.

The flick has been previously nominated for 'best first film of a director' award at the 66th edition of the Berlin International Film Festival (Belinale) in Germany.

‘Valderama’ has also received the Best Film Award selected by the jury panel at the 6th edition of the Festival of Iranian Film in Prague, Czech Republic.
